Little House

My dear friend Sarah told me a couple months ago about how her mother would read her and her siblings books at lunch time when they were kids and how much she loved it. I thought it was an awesome idea and could create such a special time...but I have 3 little rambunctious boys so I wasn't so sure how it would go. And there is only one picture per chapter in big boy books!
We checked this book out from the library this week and I set about at lunch time to read at least half a chapter. Today after reading, they wanted to set up a campsite and play Little House on the Prairie complete with Pa (Jack), Ma (myself), and baby Carrie (Boston) instead of have their TV time. God is just meeting me where I am right now, I tell ya.

Rainy Day

What's better on a rainy day than...a fort, a big King Ranch casserole, M & M cookies out of the oven and Extreme Home Makeover to watch as a family...nothing you say? I agree.

Balloon Glow

We left this event and Matt said, "we are really blessed". I asked him why and he responded, "we are just really blessed by the people we know and the things that our children get to experience with those people." We have some really awesome family and friends. Thank you Bairs, for making a little boy's night and reminding us of God's daily blessing on our family.

And just for kicks...here's our favorite picture of Jack and Dave together. I seriously laugh out loud every time I see it.

Imagination

There is something about the imagination of a child that is mystical. The things that they come up with and the sweet spirits that those ideas come from. Above is the jail/ice cream shop. I am not sure how the two go together but apparently in the mind of two little Vincent boys, they pair quite nicely. Boston is in jail but he also gets to eat ice cream.

Below is the night of our anniversary last week. We did have a date alone the weekend before but the night of was pretty spectacular. We had two waiters cook us dinner.Daddy had frog legs.
Then they played us music.Under the stars, of course.
I'm not sure why the head waiter didn't wear a shirt, but it was a really ritzy restaurant despite the no shirt, no shoes welcome policy. I even got flowers. And presents.3 years, 3 boys, 1 wonderful husband. God is good.
